Is this astrology, or something else?+
Astrology is one of seventy-three. Arcana Origin draws from Western and Vedic astrology, Mayan and Aztec calendars, Chinese BaZi, Hebrew Kabbalah, Yoruba Ifá, Norse runes, Andean coca, Pythagorean numerology, Tarot, and dozens more. We compose a portrait by asking each tradition separately — and noticing where they agree.
How accurate are the calculations?+
Planetary positions use analytical polynomial theory derived from JPL DE-series ephemerides — accurate to about one arc-minute. Calendrical traditions (Mayan, Aztec, Chinese, Hebrew) use deterministic algorithms drawn from each tradition's authoritative source. Every chart can be cross-verified against NASA JPL Horizons in your own browser. See the
methodology page for the full architecture.
Why an inscribed book and not a daily app?+
Daily horoscope apps train you to consume astrology like weather. Arcana Origin is the opposite — a once-cast portrait of who you actually are, structured as an editorial book you can print and keep. Return to it at pivotal transitions; it becomes more meaningful with time, not less.
What does the AI do?+
The traditions provide structure (chart positions, calendar correspondences, archetypal mappings); the AI provides interpretation in the brand voice, in your chosen language. We don't claim the AI predicts the future. It articulates what the traditions said about your birth moment in language the traditions themselves did not have when they were written.
Is my birth data stored?+
Birth data is sent to the AI provider (Anthropic) only at the moment of generation. We don't sell or share it. Free-tier readings are stored only in your browser's local storage; subscription tiers offer a cloud archive you can access from any device.
Can I read for someone else?+
Yes. The Master tier includes a Practitioner mode — cast readings for friends, family, partners, or clients. Each reading produces its own complete book.
Why six languages?+
The traditions speak older than empire; they shouldn't speak only in English. Readings are generated natively in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, or Italian — not machine-translated after the fact. The voice and texture are preserved across languages.
What if I disagree with something the reading says?+
Read it anyway. A reading is not a verdict — it is a mirror polished by 73 civilizations, each from a different angle. Keep what sharpens you. The traditions have survived two thousand years of readers' disappointment; they can survive yours too.
